Hahah. You trust users too much. And it doesn't matter whether they
are "officially distributed": they're still distributed by ArchLinux
in a very accessible form, without any noticeable disclaimers or
warnings.

Doesn't look like that to me. It's not a random mess of a bulletin
board, but a very polished listing of software, indistinguishable
from an officially maintained repository.

I asked the "user" in the comments to rename the packages. He refused,
and pointed me here.

The first email was very nicely worded. The result was the herd
crying about taking a toy away from them. The herd thinks that
when you give them the little finger (the code), they can rip
your whole hand (the name) apart too. Well, I won't be giving
them any more little fingers either; all the recent experience 
and degradation of free software in general, has proved them 
undeserving of that.

There's no way I'll recommend  FOSS to anyone with an attitude like
that of the FOSS herd, and I am increasingly less likely to use it
either.
