There is (or were) two packages: ion3-darcs, and ion3-darcs-noxft.
When a user looks at a package listing, he will think of ion3-darcs
as the standard Ion3 (from the Darcs repository), although it isn't,
as it has unapproved patches. And to make the *fraud* even worse,
since the more standard version (that still contains a few extra
modules, by me, however) without the patch has extra qualifiers,
it is made to like it was the non-standard version.
Users don't read the package descriptions, if they know that they
want to install 'ion3'; they'll just pick a matching package from
the listing. From AUR they wouldn't then get 'ion3', but something
else, that I will have absolutely _nothing_ to do with. Not until
Xft, fontconfig and distributions have been fixed as I described
in another post.
