[tur-users] deadline for the AUR

It's been months, and still no AUR. We've all been very patient, and
I've had conversations with pjm, Eric, and Jason. The AUR is definitely
still being developed (and it looks great), but I feel like we've been
waiting too long. I think the TUs at this point can "demand" (well, beg
in a very pathetic manner) a deadline. We have people asking about the
AUR daily, and can provide them with no information. These are people
that would be a great addition to Arch, and can't help out, because
everything (new TUs, new packages) is waiting on the AUR.

From my understanding, it's almost done, and just needs some polishing.
If this is the case, it's reasonable to ask for it to go into private
BETA, for the TUs to test it out and begin the migration. Would the
developers please respond with the info.

Lots of changes also need to be made in the administrative area, and
these need to be done after the AUR is available to us, so it is
important to speed up the transition. Official rules and regulations for
the TUR need to be made. I'm going to be taking the lead for finalizing
the rules (I posted a draft awhile ago, which can be scrapped if
necessary), but we will all have to work on them together and vote.

Do we want an official deadline for the AUR? If this deadline can't be
met, we can move to some other backup plan (possibly postponing AUR use
for a long time). An almost complete AUR that no one can use is just as
useless as no AUR at all. Eventually users, devs, and TUs will just lose
patience and leave. I think at this point, it's more important to start
using the AUR than to finish up every neat feature. There can always be
a v.2 that adds some extras.

What is everyone's opinion? Have we stagnated too long?
