Yeah I accidently used it sometimes myself. I think we should really get this
moving. I like to keep my systems clean from proprietary software wherever
possible. I would still prefer moving all non-free applications to a own
repository, but if that isn't going to happen a good usage of the license
field would be ok. pacman.conf should be usable to do things like
"ExcludeAll, Allow GPL, LGPL, BSD, ...." then. To make this happen we would
need to define a list of known licenses and assing one abbreviation to each
of them so everyone uses the same.
Additionally, I think we shouldn't depend on proprietary programs where its
not needed. E.g. I don't see why kdebase would really *need* rar support.
