[arch] Instal from Hard Drive?

Greetings:

Is it possible to install AL from a hard drive (ala RH etc). I want to 
install AL from a  portable second hard drive  on a Tecra 8000 laptop.  
The problem is that the second hard drive (hdd) is in the bay usually 
occupied by the cdrom drive so I cannot boot from that.  W98 and Debian 
are installed on the primary drive (hda).  An external USB (scsi) cdrom 
drive and a floppy drive are available. 

I have installed an image of the base AL CD on a "scratch" partition of 
the second HD but do not know how to install from it using te floppy 
diskettes.  Is this install possible with AL?  If so how?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
